New Meeting Venue for
2012.
One Nation WA will
have a new meeting home from the start of 2012 at the
RSL HALL 22 LEAKE STREET, ASCOT.

As well as being centrally local
and having excellent parking, this modern venue has the capacity and
facilities to meet the needs of our growing One Nation WA membership
well into the future.
A word from the President
A New Year has well and truly dawned - and here
come more
opportunities and challenges for One Nation in 2012
As always, the new
year is an
excellent time to consider what might lie ahead both personally and in
terms of One Nation as a significant Australian political entity.
In terms of opportunities the sky should be the limit.
Rarely in recent Australian history have so many beneficial political
and economic factors converged for the One Nation party.
The Federal Labour Government is on the nose with large sectors of the
Australian community - especially middle and lower middle income
families. But no sector rich or poor has escaped the incompetence and
spendthrift ways of first Rudd and then Gillard. In many ways the
Gillard government is far less capable than the disgraced Whitlam
Government. And we all know how that tale ended.
Look at the opinion polls. Labour is poised on the edge of the
political abyss - and looking oblivion in the face. And when they fall,
they will surely wander in the political wilderness for at least a
decade. That must be good for One Nation!
Much of Labour's pain is due to their alliance with the lunatics in the
Greens movement. Never has an Australian been played for more of a
sucker than Julia Gillard at the hands of Bob Brown.
Yet the Greens too are on the nose with the electorate. Their party
rose from nothing and diligently and secretly built its diabolical
house of cards upon a pack of poisonous lies and half truths. But the
truth is
this, what goes up must come down. History will surely show that the
last few years represent the high water mark of the Greens con job on
the Australian people. Like the Democrats their only direction will be
down. Once their master magician, Bob Brown, is unseated - and
there are plenty in the Greens with lots of ambition and little talent
- the party will quickly
fall to devouring itself from within. Australian voters are now largely
awake to the Greens charades, and uneasy must rest the head that wears
the Greens crown.
Of course the Liberal Party has in it's dark closet the skeleton of
Malcolm
Turnbull, perhaps Australia's most financially astute political
opportunist. A man detested and indeed feared my many in his own party.
A man who represents not just the big end of town, but the most
ruthless, unprincipled and rapacious of humankind - the banking,
insurance, international big business and the finance moguls or the New
World Order. This is the man who would split the Liberals down the
middle and drive millions of supporters away if ever he became leader
again. And that too is good for One Nation - if we pick those
voters up?
In his entire time as Liberal Leader John Howard's murderous
little hatchet man (the architect of Pauline Hanson's
downfall),Tony Abbott, has failed to land the knock out punch on Julia
Gillard - arguably Australia's worst ever, most indecisive, and most
cost inefficient Prime Minister. Is Abbott the best they have? But
then, upon reflection, other than Turnbull who else do they have?
With all of this and economic light weights such as Treasurer Wayne
Swan trying to tell the Australian people that China will pull us
through a world wide economic downturn, while entire nations (even
superpowers) and whole economic zones (Euro zone) drown in sovereign
debt and
with organised third world led bodies like the United Nations gnawing
at the sinews of Australia and the Western world - do you seriously
think that One Nation is short on opportunities to grow?
No, opportunity is not just knocking at our door - she has been kicking
her feet black and blue and trying to open the door for us for the last
few years! It is up to us to recognise the opportunities before
us, take advantage of them, and build the party machine that will
carry our members and representatives to where they can really save
Australia - to parliament!
At both a State and Federal level we must be awake ... listening,
responsive, thinking, planning, acting? Opportunity begs - we know
that. We must grow our membership, enhance or fundraising capacity,
prepare the party machine for future campaigns and begin the strategic,
candidate selection and training process so that when elections are
called we are ready.
Where in the past members have often felt somewhat out of the loop, I
envisage a much greater engagement with individual members - we have
tasks to perform, objectives to reach and teams to build - and all that
takes good communication and time.
But I won't dwell on challenges here. That will be the subject of a
follow up newsletter.
What I will do here is encourage all members to attend our monthly
meetings and to become involved - we need your talents on deck.
And we
need to you to bring in new members, especially people from the younger
age demographics - they are our future and Australia's salvation.
And ladies, we need more of you on our executive and on the committees
that will be formed this year, to deal with policy making, campaign
strategy, fundraising, publicity, database management and a whole host
of other duties.

The Quest Continues ....
Why do we urgently
need 500 members?
Right now Western Australian voters are
MUZZLED and POWERLESS... Why?
Under present legislation no party
may run candidates in their own Party Name
unless they are registered and have proven to the State Electoral
Commission that they have five hundred qualifying, fully paid up
members. This entrenches the old two party system.
Without the required number of members,
party candidates can only run as INDEPENDENTS and the party name, logos
etc cannot be used on ballot papers.
This
undemocratic election rigging tactic was engineered by the Liberal and
Labor Parties with the express intention of keeping smaller parties out
of our Parliament - so preserving their own hold on power.

The Lifeblood of One Nation.
Any organisation,
especially a
political party, needs regular infusions of new blood. That is the
nature of things. With time, every organisation grows old and
inflexible. If nothing is done to rejuvenate it eventually it dies!
One Nation is now sixteen years old. For an organisation, that really
is getting on. It is time for all of our members to put in the extra
effort to bring in new, younger, members with the energy, bright ideas,
and expertise to re-invent the party both here in WA and also
nationally.
That is not to say that this generational change means throwing out
years of accumulated effort and experience. But what it does mean is
that those who presently lead the party must first of all recognise
that the winds of political change are blowing right around the world
and second they must be prepared to trim their political sails to take
advantage of or counter these change - whichever is appropriate. For
some of us that will mean more work in the short term. But in the
long term we must be prepared to willingly handover to new faces.
The first decade of this millennium has seen massive political change
everywhere - right up to the Arab Spring and world of banking,
financial and sovereign debt turmoil in which we find ourselves today.
To remain a relevant party we must not only stay informed, but also
embrace what is good in the new. We must study and debate these changes
and move with the times. It's too easy to just become locked into
the past. That's fine for those who are dead, but for the living it is
the present and the future toward which we must look. One Nation
cannot cling to the past. We must listen to the Australian people -
what do they want?
It is not our job to impose our will upon others if they don't want it.
We can certainly uphold tried and tested values and systems, but we
must remain alert and flexible if we as a party are to remain relevant.
We must search out and find new ways to resonate with the
electorate - and one way to do that is to take in new, younger, members
- and to listen to their concerns and their ideas. - by Lyn Vickery

Parasite
turns honey bees into zombies
A fly parasite is being blamed for an
epidemic that has struck the honey bee population around the world. The
parasite nests in the stomach of the bees and causes them to walk in
circles, sometimes pursuing bright lights, before eventually dying.
The Parasitic Phorid Fly Apocephalus borealis is responsible for the
zombie transformation, laying its eggs inside the abdomen of the honey
bee.
... while the parasite may be causing
immense damage to the honey bees population, there is an upside to
their discovery, according to the Mirror, "Scientists discovered the
parasite by accident but they believe it may help them discover what is
causing colony collapse disorder which is devastating honey bees in
Europe and America cutting some populations in half." Full Story HERE

Fracking is not
just an Australian Problem
Fracking’s Future in the U.S. Comes Down to Upcoming New York State
Decisions
New York
State is the key battleground that will determine the future of
fracking in the U.S., and January 11, 2012, is a turning point. The
date ends the public comment period on proposed state regulations that
will govern the process: drilling into deep Marcellus shales,
fracturing the rock with water and chemicals to release natural gas,
and disposing of the resulting wastewater that flows back up the well
with the gas. When the comment period opened back in September, few
industry or government leaders anticipated the massive antifracking
movement that would arise, which has galvanized resistance in states
nationwide.
The New York Department of Environmental
Conservation (DEC), which regulates drilling, has received 21,000
comments to its proposed rules. Officials there say they cannot
remember receiving more than 1,000 comments on any prior environmental
issue. Opposition to fracking has become a central plank in the Occupy
movement, and the attention in New York has prompted other state
leaders such as New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to stop or slow the
process of allowing drilling until deeper scientific investigation is
done. The primary concern is that the practice could contaminate
drinking water supplies. Full Story HERE

IT'S OFFICIAL: S&P ANNOUNCES MASS
DOWNGRADE OF EUROZONE COUNTRIES
January 15th 2012 - Buisness Insider
Update: Wayne
Swan says here in Australia we will be fine - China will pull us
though??? But China already has its own troubles and if Europe stumbles
those problems can only grow worse for all ...

Standard
& Poor's officially cut the long-term credit rating of France and
eight other Eurozone nations, stripping the Parisian country of its
coveted AAA status.
Europe's debt
crisis continued to claim victims, as S&P lowered Italy, Portugal,
Cyprus, and Spain by two-notches. Smaller one-level downgrades hit
Austria, France, Malta, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
"Today's rating
actions are primarily driven by our assessment that the policy
initiatives that have been taken by European policymakers in recent
weeks may be insufficient to fully address ongoing systemic stresses in
the eurozone," Primary Credit Analyst Moritz Kraeme said.
The ratings
agency reiterated its ratings on Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Germany,
Ireland, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.
Standard &
Poor's has taken all 16 nations off of CreditWatch, indicating they are
safe from downgrade in the near term. However, the company has left 14
of the countries, including Italy and France, on negative outlook.
Slovakia and Germany were the only two to regain stable outlooks.
The move by
S&P ultimately removed AAA ratings from France and Austria, leaving
only four nations in the region with the highest possible rating.
"We affirmed the
ratings of sovereigns which we believe are likely to be more resilient
at their current rating level in light of their relatively strong
external positions and less leveraged public and private sectors,"
Kraeme said.
France's decline,
from AAA to AA+ also substantially endangers the credit rating of the
European Financial Stability Facility. Full Story HERE

Cashless Society:
India Implements First Biometric ID Program for all of its 1.2 Billion
Residents
Over the past few months, I have written
several articles dealing with the coming cashless society and the
developing technological control grid. I also have written about the
surge of government attempts to gain access to and force the use of
biometric data for the purposes of identification, tracking, tracing,
and surveillance.
Unfortunately, the reactions I receive from the general public are
almost always the same. While some recognize the danger, most simply
deny that governments have the capability or even the desire to create
a system in which the population is constantly monitored by virtue of
their most private and even biological information. Others, either
gripped by apathy or ignorance, cannot believe that the gadgets given
to them from the massive tech corporations are designed for anything
other than their entertainment and enjoyment.
However, current events in India should serve not just as a warning,
but also as a foreshadowing of the events to come in the Western world,
specifically the United States.
Recently, India has launched a nationwide program involving the
allocation of a Unique Identification Number (UID) to every single one
of its 1.2 billion residents. Each of the numbers will be tied to the
biometric data of the recipient using three different forms of
information – fingerprints, iris scans, and pictures of the face. All
ten digits of the hand will be recorded, and both eyes will be scanned.
